Nursing Supervisory Certificate

 

Students participate in a 6 week blended/online course, meeting once per week on the FM campus and online to provide flexibility for busy Registered Nurses.  RN’s will learn the 6 C’s of Coaching:  Coaching for success, Change in the workplace, Conflict resolution, Communication in healthcare, Customer service, Characteristics & competencies of leaders.  Participants network and share leadership skills/best practices which assists them in becoming competent and eager leaders in the Healthcare Community.  A non-credit continuing education certificate is issued upon successful completion of the course. 

Students must reside in Fulton, Montgomery or Schoharie County and already be a Registered Nurse to qualify for this training.  Classes are ongoing until May of 2013 with rolling admission every 6 to 8 weeks.  Classes are filled on a first come first serve basis upon receipt of application; classes are limited to 25 students per class.  Students will participate in blended online/class learning format using the college online instruction software, ANGEL.  Class will meet once a week on FM Johnstown campus (currently scheduled to be on Wednesdays) and online in between class meetings.  Student is required to complete all 15 hours of the course.  Weekly attendance is MANDATORY.  There will be 5 one-hour online assignments between each unit which would include a combination of discussion posting, activities and small written assignments.  Non-credit Continuing Education Certificate will be awarded upon completion.  Total instruction time is 15 hours.
